There are approximately 61,000 non-fatal injuries to workers each year. The below points show just a few of the various incidents that make up this startling number;
• Slips, trips or falls on the same level 26%
• Injured whilst handling, lifting or carrying 19%
• Falls from height 19%
• Struck by moving, including flying/falling object 12%

In 2019/20 there were 40 fatalities to workers and 4 to the members of the public. Over the last 5 years, there have been on average 37 fatalities to workers and 5 to members of the public, 47% of those deaths over the last 5 years were due to falls from height.
